This recipe was sent to me a couple years ago by Twitter (now X) friends.
A variation on our dutch pea soup. Just as firm, just as tasty but just a little more spicy. And something different for a change! 😄

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 – 1lb bag dried green peas
  • 10 cups of water
  • ½ cup white wine
  • 1 lb package beef hot dogs, sliced
  • Tabasco sauce
  • 3 teaspoons curry powder  or more to taste

Preparation:

Sauté the vegetables and garlic in butter for 8 minutes.
Add in dried peas and 10 cups water and wine, bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
Add sliced hot dogs and simmer for 40 minutes.
Add a few dashes of hot sauce and the curry powder.
Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with good bread and a few glasses of wine.🍷

    Bedankt Wim!

Moet nog veel gebeuren hier, maar dat gaat wel lukken in de wintermaanden met rustige avonden. 😉

wordt tijd dat ik nog eens een bezoekje aan het forum breng. (te) lang geleden! 😊
